Fibron Technologies Inc., in collaboration with Richard Kaner's lab at UCLA, has received a STTR grant from the NSF to develop scaleable manufacturing processes that can coat a wide variety of substrates with a thin film of nanostructured material that includes conducting polymer nanofibers, carbon nanotubes, and metallic nanowires. The process is a platform that will allow Fibron to utilize a multitude of nanostructured materials in thin film applications ranging from anti-statics to electronic displays. The grant provides $150,000 in research and development funds for a Phase 1 study and allows Fibron to compete for $500,000 in Phase II funding. |
